Who can apply?
Rahab’s Retreat and Ranch is a twelve-month program that offers help to women who are wanting freedom from life-controlling issues such as self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, depression, unplanned pregnancy, homelessness, and various other issues. In order to be considered to come into the home, you must be willing to participate fully in all that we have to offer. Although our main focus area is for those coming out of sex-trafficking and the sex-trade industry, we are very happy to help women who are not coming from this background. Our goal is to help you develop a close and personal relationship with the Living God while allowing Him to change you from the inside out. We also are going to help our ladies get their education and/or gain other skills to help them find a new career.
What we require from you:
- A commitment of at least one year.
- The willingness to be an active part of Rahab’s including attending all the scheduled activities.
- A commitment to follow the program guidelines.
- No smoking or nicotine use of any kind.
- No drug or alcohol use.
- No cell phones or personal computers.
Your agreement to the policy that contact is only allowed with approved immediate family members or others, at the discretion of staff. This includes mail and phone calls. There will be no contact with anyone for the first 2 weeks. (except short calls to children)
No mood altering, anti-psychotic, narcotics, sleep aids, or other similar medications are allowed. All medications you are taking must be listed on your Screening Form and the Assessment for Admission prior to entry into the program. The person conducting your assessment will discuss your medications with you. We will need you to bring at least a 30-day supply of the medications that have been approved for entry.
Recent health test results including TB, HIV, and Hepatitis A-B-C testing.
Any emergency type dental or medical problems should be taken care of before entry.
We need to know about any legal problems or issues you are having. Please include those on the Screening form and be honest during the assessment so we can send letters or contact probation officers or court staff regarding your coming into our program.
We need to know about any court proceedings that are active in regards to your children. This includes open CPS cases. We will contact case workers or supervisors to let them know you will be here. It is important for us to start the communication with them as soon as possible. If you will not be bringing your children with you due to a CPS case, we want to open the lines of communication with them in order to let them know that we are in favor of reunification and will help you work towards that.
A commitment from you that you will not contact anyone on the outside who might be a danger to you, our staff or other women and children in the home.
How to apply:
The first step in applying to come to Rahab’s is to fill out the screening form that can either be downloaded here and mailed in or submitted electronically here. Please note that the form MUST be filled out by the one who is applying, not by friends or family members. Once we receive the Screening Form, we will contact you to set up an assessment in person or over the phone. During the assessment we will make a determination as to whether or not you are a good candidate for our home. At that time, we will set an entry date if you are approved to come in. If not, you may be instructed to do certain things before you are approved such as, go for a medical detox, taper off and stop certain medications under the supervision of a physician, provide us with more information regarding legal issues, and so forth. Once these things have been satisfied, we will set your entry date. If you go for detox, we will make arrangements to have your bed ready when you are released from the detox unit.
If you have a family member in jail or otherwise unable to access our online screening form, you can print the form here and get it to them to fill out and mail in. We will then correspond with them directly by mail or phone, (if possible).
